Isaac's Harbour Lighthouse

The Isaac's Harbour Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse located on Isaacs Harbour Road in Isaacs Harbour, Canada.

History

The construction of the lighthouse began in 1858 and was completed in 1860.

Architecture

The lighthouse stands at a height of approximately 30 metres (98 feet) above the sea level. The focal height, which is the distance from the base of the tower to the top of the light, is around 50 metres (164 feet). The structure is made primarily of stone and brick, with a distinctive square tower design.

Light Characteristics

The lighthouse features a fixed white light with a characteristic pattern of three flashes every minute. The range of the light is reportedly visible up to 20 nautical miles (37 km) out to sea.
